Kernow
Down on the Cornish coast, Kernow Chocolate has been crafting deliciously nostalgic chocolate since 2005. Founded by the Shapland family in Wadebridge, what began as a small farm shop venture has grown into one of Cornwall’s sweetest success stories. Now based in a former RAF building in St. Eval, Kernow remains proudly family-run and proudly Cornish — the very name Kernow means Cornwall in Cornish.
Kernow’s chocolates are as comforting as a Sunday pudding, inspired by classic British desserts like Eton Mess, Banoffee Pie, and Lemon Meringue. Each bar captures that dessert magic in chocolate form — rich, creamy, and nostalgic. Their bright packaging, created by South Devon artist Becky Bettesworth, features hand-drawn seaside scenes that make every bar a little work of art.
Their Banoffee consists of sweet banana and caramel flavours with crunchy honeycomb pieces making this bar a top pick (and a Chocolatarium visitor favourite!) If you're still looking a sweeter bar, try their Eton Mess. using strawberries, meringue, and smooth white chocolate, this bar is a creamy, crunchy twist on the classic dessert.
Lemon Meringue features zesty lemon balanced with sweet white chocolate and crisp meringue bits. Surprisingly refreshing. And another fruity bar is their Toffee Apple. With chewy apple and buttery toffee pieces sprinkled throughout, this bar evokes autumn fairs and Halloween nostalgia all year round.
Kernow’s playful approach to flavour and love of Cornish roots make them a chocolate maker worth celebrating — creative, family-run, and utterly delicious.
