Milk and White Chocolates

To create dairy-free milk and white chocolates, chocolate makers have started to employ innovative techniques and ingredients. They use alternative milks like oat, soy, coconut, or rice, as well as creamy nut butters such as hazelnut and almond, to achieve a creamy texture in their bars.

Coconut Milk Chocolate

Chocolate Tree's 55% Coconut Dark-Milk Bar and Mellow's Caribbean Coconut 50% cacao both delicious alternative milk chocolates with a coconut milk flavour with Mellow being smoother and fudgier and Chocolate Tree's slightly more textured.

Rice, Soy or Oat Alternative Chocolate

Seed and Bean use rice powder to create their milky chocolates such as Sea Salt & Orange and their 47% Vegan Salted Caramel. Guppy's do a tasty oat milk chocolate with cacao from Colombia. 

Nut Butter Chocolate

Just as with vegan cream cheese, a great way of bringing creaminess to chocolate without adding dairy milk is to use nut butters. Chocolate Tree’s Hazelnut Gianduja is one of the best.
