Dark-Milk Chocolate
Dark-Milk Chocolate Bar Guide
If you love the rich flavours of a dark chocolate but want the creaminess of a milk chocolate then look no further than ‘dark milk’ chocolate. These bars usually have 45% - 60% minimum cacao solids (compared with around 20% for a Cadbury’s Dairy Milk or around 30% for your typical chocolatier's milk chocolate) so they are great for those trying to get away from super sweet, sugary chocolate. Usually, the higher the percentage of cacao, the lower the portion of sugar.
The Chocolatarium’s founder’s favourite chocolate (and she’s tried a lot!) is Chocolate Tree’s 60% Maranon Milk for is slightly textured mouthfeel with notes of raisins and dark fruits. Willie’s slightly caramelly Milk of the Stars 54% is also fabulous.
Dark Milk chocolate is a great match for coffee-flavoured chocolate such as Duffy’s 45% Moccachino (a textured latte) and Bare Bone’s slightly smoother but with a subtler coffee flavour, Honduras Milk and Coffee (59%). For vegans, Otherly's Cold Brew Coffee hits the spot.
