None of the main ingredients of chocolate (cacao, sugar, milk powder and sometimes soy or sunflower emulsifiers) naturally contain gluten so if you have a mild allergy or intolerance, most plain and flavoured chocolates will be safe for you to eat. However, you will probably want to avoid bars that have inclusions or flavourings that contain gluten such as pretzels or anything containing cereal-based ingredients such as wafers or biscuits.
Chocolates listed here are based on products with no gluten-containing products in the list of ingredients shown. It’s essential to check the ingredients and allergy information on the packaging when you receive your chocolate bar, just in case of any recent changes.
